Overview

This project models a planetary gearbox in SolidWorks for automotive applications. The aim is to create a parametric assembly of sun, planet, and ring gears, run motion studies, perform static stress analysis, and visualize energy transfer. The design will be based on real-world transmission data for accurate scaling.

Key Features

  • Designed at 1:1 scale based on [vehicle model] transmission
  • Parametric gear tooth profiles generated using involute equations
  • Full planetary gear train with carrier, sun, and ring gears
  • Stress-tested using SolidWorks Simulation for torque loads of X Nm
  • Animated motion study showing gear rotation and output speed reduction (1 cycle)
  • Planned: Energy conservation tracking via motion study power plots
